Description
‘The Uke’
Circa 1920’s Gibson Ukulele made at the original Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Mfg. Co. Ltd. in Kalamazoo, Michigan. My Great-Grandfather, a professional baseball player for the Washington Senators, gave a fellow in a tavern in need of some money $100 for this Ukelele in the early 20’s (about 10x what it cost new). My Grandfather, also a professional baseball player for the St Louis Browns, inherited it from him. My Dad inherited it from him and I inherited it from Dad.
The black, irregular frame you see around the image is the actual edges of undeveloped sheet film.
