I’d ridden 100 miles or more. My horse was thirsty and tired so we set up camp and walked down to the river about 40 miles north of the border…. Suddenly, there she was. She’d been separated from her tribe. As a traveling photographer I asked her if I could set my camera up and make an image of her. She agreed. Once my horse had enough water and rest I packed up and rode off…
The black, irregular frame you see around the image is the actual edges of undeveloped sheet film.
